“Stories We Make Up about Temptation” Read 1 Corinthians 10:1-6; 12-14 One of the most powerful stories we make up about temptation is that a temptation overwhelmed us and we didn’t really have a choice in the matter. This is so enticing because it takes the responsibility from us. Ř Consider Paul’s instruction on temptation in verses 12-14. Could this fit any temptation we face? Do you believe this teaching to be true? Ř What temptations do you most consistently have to face? Ř What price would he pay if he were to yield? Ř Does verse 13 encourage or frustrate you? How so? Ř In what ways is God present in a time of temptation? Have you seen it in your life? Ř What would it take for you to take the “other choice” God gives you at the time of temptation? Ř What would it take for you to take the “other choice” God gives you at the time of temptation? |
